LEGAL COUNSEL for the ELDERLY

The Legal Counsel for the Elderly champions the dignity and rights of Washington, D.C. older adults by providing free legal and social work services to those in need. Legal Counsel for the Elderly provides legal assistance for the homeless and those affected by COVID-19 pandemic, and they receive the calls of thousands of older adults each year. With the support of donors, they are advocates when there are moments such as: when a woman in her 80s is issued an eviction notice; when a World War II veteran is denied the benefits earned; when a cancer diagnosis means someone needs to update their will, when a nursing home r3sident is not

receiving medication on time. And more importantly, the Legal Counsel for the Elderly to provide legal assistance for housing and to get a financial settlement from their landlord.
