Heaven or Hell: Scripture Verses Taken from the Holy Bible

The Signs of the Times are all around us. If ever there was a time to pray and offer God’s hope to all people around the world is now. When the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak worldwide began in 2020 our world saw more suicides, death, natural disasters, political confusion, wars and rumors of wars, high inflation and lack of church attendance. The world around us is changing so drastically and the freedoms that we have enjoyed for so long are slowly diminishing. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” There is hope for tomorrow and death is not final. God is our Hope through faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the Son of God and Hope of the ages.

Yes, heaven and hell are real eternal dwelling places. However, there is hope. Jesus Christ will return to receive (rapture) His own, so that where He is, those born of the water and the Spirit will be with Him forever to share in His reign as King of kings and Lord of lords. Whatever your current circumstances, take a few moments to read the Scripture verses selected in this message to assess where your hope lies. Where are you placing your hope? Is it in your career? Your family? Your material possessions?

The Bible says a lot about hope. Humanity lives in a challenging world where people do evil things every day. In this sin cursed world, a loving heavenly Father prepared a rescue plan for humankind. The Bible says in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” No one offers what our Lord Jesus Christ offers. By coming to live among us He knows what it is like to face life and death and win.

Power

Christ Jesus offers us His power when we live in His power, we can have His hope. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Future

Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior offers us a future filled with His power, peace, rest and forgiveness. Jeremiah 29:11-13 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”

1

Peace

Peace, I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)

Rest

Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:28-29)

Forgiveness

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.” (Ephesians 1:7)

This is a faithful saying, and worthy, of all acceptations, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.” (1 Timonthy 1:15)

The Lord God knows your name and may call you today. Seek Him with your heart and don’t turn away. Read the Gospel of John and learn more about the love of God which says in John 1:1 and 14, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

The Roman Road to Salvation

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 3:23-24)

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be confirmed to this world, be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:1-2)

What God Wants You to Know

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

“… Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.” (Titus 3:5)

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.” (Proverbs 28:13)

How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him.” (Hebrews 2:3)

Heaven or Hell

The Bible shows how you can avoid hell. “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9) The Bible says, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36)

All things are planned by our heavenly Father, including this message. Do not harden your heart when you hear His call. Pray that the Holy Spirit will open your heart to let the Lord Jesus in. You will be going from death to life eternal. “He who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgement, but has passed from death into life. Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.” (John 5:24-25)

Are You Ready for the Second Coming of Christ Jesus?

The Lord Jesus Christ promises about His return Scripture verses.

Then the sing of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” (Matthew 24:30)

Be Born Again

God created all things seen and unseen. And even though humankind have rejected Him, eight with words or actions, God give us a new opportunity to believe and accept Him.

Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’” (John 2:2)

Repent and Believe

The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:15)

“… Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

Open Your Heart to Lord Jesus Christ

Believe He Is God

“… that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

Receive Eternal Life

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

The Lord Jesus Christ said in Matthew 24:36, “No one knows the day or hour” of His second coming. If you want to be ready for Jesus’ return, start by saying this prayer:

Lord Jesus Christ, I need Your salvation. I open my heart to You. I confess that You are God’s own Son, and that You died on the cross for my sanctification, justification, and glorification and all my sins. Help me to turn from my sinful ways and take up my cross and follow You daily. Make me ready for Your soon return and show me how to live the reminder of my days on earth in Your will for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
