Mayor’s Office of Veterans Affairs

ON BEHALF OF A GRATEFUL NATION, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.

The Mayor’s Office of Veterans Affairs is a proud Commemorative
Partner of the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration.
It is an unfortunate reality that many of our nation’s veterans who
answered the call to duty during the Vietnam War did not receive the
proper recognition and thanks they deserved for their service to our
country. Washington DC is proud of its tradition of military service,
and we resolve to place renewed emphasis on recognizing the service and
sacrifice of our Vietnam Era Veterans.

To accomplish this goal, The Mayor’s Office of Veterans Affairs is
launching A NEW VIETNAM VETERAN RECOGNITION PROGRAM. If you veteran who
served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time during the
period of November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975, regardless of location, you
are eligible to receive a Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin. Additional details
on our new program can be found here.
