NAAV Field Trip to Sight & Sound Theatres

On November 7, 2017, the National Association of American Veterans, Inc. and its partner PA AVE Village East of Washington, DC, sponsored a small group of seniors, caregivers of Veterans, and a widow of a deceased Veteran on a field trip to Sight & Sound Theatres in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to see the “Miracle of Christmas,” followed by a brief trip to Rockvale Outlet, lunch at the Plain and Fancy Restaurant in Lancaster, and return to DC.

The group saw the Bible version of God sending His son to earth, born in a stable in Bethlehem, and with the help of Joseph and Mary, this miracle helped transform the lives of human beings from every nation around the world. “Jesus was not an unrelatable, royal ruler. He was Emmanuel—God with us.”

Testimonials of Field Trip Group Participants

“Yesterday my husband Charlie and I were truly blessed. We received a wonderful respite from the National Association of American Veterans to the Sight & Sound Theatres. The charter coach bus was beautiful and the fellowship was great. When we arrived at the theater, it was breathtaking. The play was amazing. We laughed, cried, and praised God for His amazing gift of Salvation. Charlie said he really needed this respite, and he wants to thank Ms. Burns the founder of NAAV personally. Ms. Burns, we caregivers thank you and NAAV sponsors and supporters for caring about us. We know that we are not alone.”  —Charlie and Lola of Maryland

“NAAV, thank you for allowing me to be a part of this year’s respite field trip to Sight & Sound Theatres in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania. The play, lunch and time spent at the Rockvale Outlet was wonderful.”  —Berlant Der-Garabedian of Virginia

NAAV’s next scheduled field trip will be to the Sight & Sound Theatres to see “Jesus” in August 2018. The Sight & Sound Theatres are continuously exploring new ways to bring the Bible to life. NAAV, with the support of our sponsors, is providing more opportunities for more Veterans and their caregivers to experience these powerful stories.
