Women Veteran Artist Program Exhibition

The Women’s Memorial Foundation and the VA’s Center for Women Veterans are especially pleased to invite you to …

Join us and special guest Army Veteran Pamela Corwin for the formal opening and reception of the _”Women Veteran Artist Program”_ exhibition at the Women In Military Service For America Memorial on Monday, August 7, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. Ms. Corwin is one of the featured artists in the exhibition.

The exhibit, a collection showcasing the amazing art and stories of 10 women veterans from across the nation, is an initiative to bring recognition to America’s women Veterans through their creative talents and personal stories of service. Those featured in the exhibition were selected from more than 400 submissions by women Veterans nationwide who participated in the 2017 Women Veteran Artist program. Each of the 10 women is showcased with a digital image of her work, a biography highlighting her military and creative journey as well as photos of her in and out of uniform. The exhibition was made possible through the collaboration of the Center for Women Veterans, Veteran Artist Program, First Data and the Veterans Canteen Service. Before coming to the Women’s Memorial, the exhibit was featured in VA Medical Centers across the country as well as on Broadway, in selected Starbucks locations and on the USS Intrepid.

The opening is free and open to the public. RSVPs, however, are requested and should be made by August 3, to pr@womensmemorial.org.
Please include name, number in the party and contact number/e-mail address.

Located at the gateway to Arlington National Cemetery, the Women’s Memorial is accessible by METRO Blue Line, Arlington Cemetery Stop, and paid parking is available in the Cemetery Visitor Lot. Directions to the Women’s Memorial can be found at https://www.womensmemorial.org/visit/directions.
