Spring Break of Summer Testimonies

[1]

April~May~June

If there was ever a time to keep your head lifted and moving forward, the time is now. Spring has broken through and we’re finding ourselves moving towards the middle of summer. Rain showers, steamy humidity, family vacation plans and hot topics in the news. The National Association of American Veterans (NAAV) is on a plane ride to destiny as the organization never quits the transportation of providing our resources to veterans and veteran families in need.

No matter the weather, how we do what we do doesn’t change why we do what we do, which is simply because of a caring and passionate CEO and President of NAAV, Constance Burns keeps the wheels turning. The volunteers, prayer warriors, sponsors, and supporters help to ensure that the knocks of veterans don’t go unanswered.

This 2nd Quarter Testimonial features NAAV springing into action to light the way of sunshine for veterans and their family members, whose days might have gotten stuck in the puddles of despair, but for the “break throughs.”

I also thank NAAV, Inc. for providing rental assistance and keeping the late fees from being added to my monthly rental payment. “Hi Constance, I hope this gets to you:

I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to Constance Burns, Founder, President,  CEO, Veterans Service Officer/Veterans Advocate for the National Association of American Veterans, Inc. Constance, with her Faith in God, and her kindness towards veterans, has been such a Blessing in my life. I met Constance a number of years ago through a cold call I placed to the NAAV when I was in a time of desperation.

Without hesitation, she returned my call. Through her assistance providing essentials, to assisting with rent so I could keep a roof over my head, she never hesitated to extend a helping hand, and in some cases, far more than just a helping hand. When we speak, our
conversations always begin and end with the Grace of God, and how amazing He is to us.

Recently, my truck broke down and placed in the repair shop. My funds were exhausted, and without giving it a second thought, Constance covered the gap and arranged to have my truck repairs completed.

I can’t say enough about the kindness Constance Burns has shown me in my life. I

went through a difficult period, and without Constance’s assistance through the NAAV, I’m not sure I would’ve been able to keep a roof over my head. Constance truly is a reflection of God’s Grace. She truly is a servant God has sent to look over all of us veterans. God bless you always,

James Larck

Sneak peek into our 2nd Quarter featured story:

  • On April 15, 2025, the (NAAV) generously donated food and essential household items to five veterans, including widows, at 11600 Glenn Dale Blvd, Glenn Dale, Maryland. The organization’s President and CEO, Constance Burns, had learned that several veterans in the building were struggling to meet basic needs. With her usual compassion and commitment, she reached out to me—Lola, NAAV Senior Advisor for Caregivers—to help organize a food drive. (See the 2nd Quarter Newsletter for more on this feature story.)
