And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. “The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men– extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.’ ‘I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’ “And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ “I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” ~ Luke 18: 11-14
“Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” ~ Hebrews 13:15
“And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry, although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.” ~ 1 Timothy 1:12-13
The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!” Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: “You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.” ~ Revelation 4:8-11
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for manifesting Your love in our lives every day especially when our hearts are breaking. It is then that we experience Your compassion and comfort in ways we cannot always explain. When we have suffered betrayal or loss or disappointment, when life storms and challenges comes our way. You are our hope and comfort in our darkest hour here on earth. You are here on earth to heal us and to bind up our wounds. Lord, help us to pray daily and read Your Word in the Bible so that the Holy Spirit can give us strength and power. For we are weak, but the Lord our God is strong. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
