National Association of American Veterans, Inc. Receives Winter Cap Gifts for Seniors

On Friday, February 7, 2020, the National Association of American Veterans, Inc. (NAAV) president, chief executive officer and veterans’ service officer Constance A. Burns donated hand knitted winter caps to Seniors residing at the Forest Hills of DC located at 4901 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Washington, DC. The Forest Hills of DC is a rehabilitation services for seniors in partnership with Select Rehabilitation. The Rehabilitation Senior Facility provides physical, occupational, and speech therapy and inclusive Senior Living to seniors residing in the greater Washington metropolitan area. Other areas of senior care include pain management, post-orthopedic, neurological condition, dysphagia treatment, gait/balance training, and restorative programs. Forest Hills of DC is a full-service community with light-filled dining rooms, choice-filled meals, a walk around garden, full-service beauty salon and barber shop, respite services. Formerly known as The Methodist Home, Forest Hills of DC is a private, non-for-profit, full-service retirement organization established 130 years ago. The heart of the private rehabilitation facility is to provide assisted living, skilled nursing, and sub-acute rehab to resident.

Meanwhile, NAAV, Inc. received sixty-nine (69) hand-knitted winter caps donated by Linda S. Cunningham, Founder of Sharing Love of Indianapolis, Indiana to give to homeless Veterans residing in the greater Washington metropolitan area. The market value of gift is $1,380. NAAV is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization established in 2005 and incorporated in 2006 to support severely injured Service men and women, disabled Veterans, and their caregivers nationwide most in need. NAAV provides emergency assistance referrals, counseling referrals, legal, respite care, employment, housing and claims and benefits assistance to our Service members and Veterans.
