Most of us take time to show gratitude to those who help us in different situations. We also spend time to express thankfulness to our friends and family members, especially during the holiday season. As born-again Believers in Christ, we know that our Lord God is the source of good and perfect things in our life on earth. Therefore, giving thanks to Him should be a natural daily habit for us. The Lord God loves and accept our praises, and He uses them for our spiritual growth in Him.
Giving God our thanks is another way to share the Gospel News. Your family members, friends, and others may not know about the amazing love of God and how He blesses us, and that He is a great encouragement for our hearts.
There are many Bible verses throughout the Old and New Testaments of people and His servants showing thankfulness to God. David openly declared his thanks to God for His goodness in many of his Psalms, wanting everyone to join him. Psalm 9:1 – “I will praise You, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works.”
Daniel 2:23 – “I Thank You and praise You, O God of my father; You have given me wisdom and might and have now made known to me what we asked of You, for You have made known to us the king’s demand.”
Ezra 3:11 – “And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the LORD: For He is good, for His mercy endures forever toward Israel.”
The Letter of the Apostle Paul encourage Believers in Christ to show their gratitude to God in their actions and speech giving thanksgiving to God.
2 Corinthians 4:15 – “For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.”
Colossians 3:2 – “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.”
Romans 12:15 – “Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.”
Romans 8:31 – “What then shall we say to those things: If God is for us, who can be against us?”
Psalm 28:7 – “The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore, my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.”

1 Peter 5:6-7 – “Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all our care upon Him, for He cares for you.”
1 Timothy 6:6-7 – “Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.”
Psalm 131:2-3 – “Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.” O Israel, hope in the LORD from this time forth and forever.”
Isaiah 25:1 – “O LORD, You are my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things; Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.”
No matter what the challenges and troubles we may be facing in your life, God is always worthy of your praise and worship. We should be thankful to God, because He loves us more than we can ever understand. I praise the LORD God because it brings me into His presence.
Psalm 95:1-2 – “Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.”
Psalm 30:2-4 – “O LORD my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me. O LORD, You brought my soul up from the grave; You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. Sing praise to the LORD, you saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.”
John 9:31 – “Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.”
Palm 16:7 – “I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel; my heart also instructs me in the night seasons.”
Romans 14:8 – “For if we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.”
Psalm 118:24 – “This is the day the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Romans 8:28 – “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

Prayer:
Lord, I invite You to be Lord God over everything in my life today. I pray that You will be Lord over the way I use my time. Be Lord over my relationships, my marriage, and my children. Be Lord over plans, decisions, career, and ministry. Be Lord over my dreams, fears, and future. Lord, I commit my day to You and ask You to be in charge of it from beginning to end. Help me to do it carefully and not carelessly. I know I cannot do all I need without Your help. Enable me to hear Your voice speaking to my heart, telling me the way I should go and what I should do. Lord may this day be filled with Your favor, wisdom, and strength. May every step I take lead to progress, every challenge become a testimony, and every door You have prepared for me open wide. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
