Veteran Resources September 2017

The National Association of American (NAAV) was asked to share information with our audience of veterans and their family members about a new Brain Donor program being offered through Mount Sinai in New York. This program is uniquely focused on military service members.

“Dr. Kristen Dams-O’Connor, who is one of the leading brain injury researchers in the United States, is overseeing the research program.” Moreover NAAV was advised that, one of the collaborators for this program is the leading Pathologist at the Uniformed Service University of Health Sciences (USUHS) and is particularly interested in studying the pathological sequelae of brain injury in military personnel.

NAAV is sharing this information as a point of reference and resource that could be of benefit to or someone you know who has suffered from Traumatic Brain Injury (TMI) and may qualify for support through this unique research program, which was founded in 1981.

Our mission is to support and advocate for individuals affected by brain injury and raise awareness through education and prevention.
We are a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life people experience after brain injury.
