The LORD God’s Promises When I Need …

Strength

“You in Your mercy have led forth the people whom You have redeemed; you have guided them in Your strength to Your holy habitations.” (Exodus 15:13)

It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.” (Psalm 18:32)

“The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore, my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.  The LORD is their strength, and He is the saving refuge of His anointed.” (Psalm 28:7-8)

“The LORD will give strength to His people; the LORD will bless His people with peace.” (Psalm 29:11)

“The LORD of Hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.” (Psalm 46:11)

“Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For YAH the LORD, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’” (Isaiah 12:2)

“He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.  But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40, 29, 31)

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1)

Rest

Read Psalm 121

“Jesus answered and said to her, ‘Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again.’” (John 4:13)

“Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, ‘If you be the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.’  But He answered and said, ‘It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” (Matthew 4:3-4)

“Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear least any of you seem to have short of it.” (Hebrews 4:1)

“There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.  For he who have entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did them His.” (Hebrews 4:9-10)

Refuge

“The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you, and will say, “Destroy!’” (Deuteronomy 33:27)

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?  For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.” (Psalm 27:1,5)

Encouragement

“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.  They have bowed down and fallen; but we have risen and stand upright.” (Psalm 20:7-8)

“Why are you cast down, O my soul?  And why are you disquieted within me?  Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.” (Psalm 41:5)

“For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.” (Romans 15:4)

“So, let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.” (1 Thessalonians 2:16-17)

“For men indeed swear by the greater, and an oath for confirmation is for them an end of all dispute.  Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath, that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.  This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” (Hebrews 6:16-20)

Comfort

“Evening and morning and at noon I will pray; and cray aloud, and He shall hear my voice.” (Psalm 55:17)

“My flesh and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” (Psalm 73:26)

“This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your word has given me life.” (Psalm 119:50)

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3)

“Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you!  I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and I will deliver you.” (Isaiah 46:4)

Direction

“O LORD, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot.  The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a good inheritance.” (Psalm 16:5-6)

“It is God who arms me with strength and make my way perfect.” (Psalm18:32)

“Wait on the LORD, and keep His way, and He shall exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.” (Psalm 37:34)

Forgiveness

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

(Psalm 34:22)

“Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.” (Psalm 51:7)

“Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” (Isaiah, 55:7)

“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.” (Mark 11:25)

“To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” (Luke 1:79)

“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” (Romans 5:1-2)

“Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.”

(Romans 5:9)

Healing

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Healing (Continued)

“Blessed is he who considered the poor; the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.  The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive., and he will be blessed on the earth; you will not deliver him to the will of his enemies.  The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; you will sustain him in his sickbed.”

(Psalm 41-1-3)

“Is anyone among you suffering?  Let him pray.  Is anyone cheerful?  Let him sing psalms.  Is anyone among you sick?  Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.  And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up.  And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.  Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.  The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”

(James 5:13-16)

Protection

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4)

Victory

“The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy form before you, and will say, ‘Destroy!’” (Deuteronomy 33:27)

“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.  They have bowed down and fallen; but we have risen and stand upright.” (Psalm 20:7-8)

“Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed; let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause.” (Psalm25:3)

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD.” (Jeremiah 17:7)

“… being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6)

“Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer.  Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days.  Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” (Revelation 2:10)

Prayer

Lord, I want to cling to You and Your promises every moment with my whole heart.  Help me never to stray away from Your promises.  Help me to always depend and trust in You.  Thank You Lord for giving me the ability to communicate Your truth with love and grace.   Lord, help me to share the good news of Your salvation, forgiveness and new life in Christ with others.  Lord, I pray that Your Holy Spirit will help me to control what I say and do so that every word from my mouth will only bless others and glorify You.  Keep me from speaking dreadful words that can hurt or destroy others.   In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray.  Amen.
