Joy in the LORD’s Salvation

The Scripture says, “When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.  And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, ‘This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.’”  (Matthew 3:16-17) It is our prayer that these selected Bible verses about joy in the LORD’s salvation will help guide you to the LORD our God … for “there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”  (Luke 15:10)

In heaven angels are shown to be rejoicing over those who repent of their sins and turn to God’s love on earth.  The angels know that without the LORD our God we are hopeless for they know what God has done for humanity.  So, the heavenly beings rejoice in God’s salvation and recovery of any person from sin.  Luke 15:7 says, “I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.”

Prayer:

LORD, I know that You love me.  I accept Your love and I will share it today and every day that you give me on my journey on earth.  Thank you for giving me a new heart and for putting Your Holy Spirit within me.  I am now completely whole in You.  I will always rejoice in your gift of salvation to me and all those who will repent and turn from sin.  In Jesus’ name, I pray.  Amen.
